First cut from the new Ihsahn

So there have been several albums I was anxiously waiting for. The new Swallow the Sun, the new Meshuggah, the Storm Corrosion album. Now there’s another one…Eremita by Ihsahn.

I’ve been a massive fan of Ihsahn’s since the Emperor days, through Peccatum into his solo career. He’s always managed to bridge the gap between music that engages the mind, while evoking things emotional and powerful (for me at least). The first cut from the new album does not disappoint. Enjoy, and join me in brutal anticipation!!

As a side note, I recently came across a bunch of interview tapes from back in the proverbial day, one of which, I suspect, has my interview with Ihsahn that I did over the phone a while after the release of Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk. If the tape is, in fact, in there, I’ll be transcribing it and putting it up here, for nostalgia sake, since it never got published.
